Our Hill Country Place On the Colorado River
I Love River Place!
The panoramic views, amenities and natural surroundings will make you never want to leave. Entering the River Place community begins a fairytale life as you wander through unique vantage points and gaping views of canyon land. Walk out your front to journey through lush Nature Trails with waterfalls and tranquility, parks, a country club with golf, tennis, fitness center, pool and access to Lake Austin. Shaded by sprawling oak trees, and crepe myrtles this unique area offers privacy in the sought after location with beautiful scenery in Northwest Austin.
River Place Country Club is a premier private club. We are so fortunate to be a part of this community connecting with family, and making new friends roaming our wonderful hill country destination. You might be a fan of competitive sports ~ that’s great ~ or perhaps it’s simply the scenery that surrounds you which wakes you up in the morning and pushes you out the door.
I love River Place because it begins in the hill country and ends at Scenic Lake Austin, a sanctuary in the Woodlands Park beneath the playscape. Have you visited it? If you haven’t explored it, now is the time to enjoy a small group picnic or private moment on the bench swing to take in the park and river view. 8820 Big View Drive (across from the fountain at the Trailhead). Reserve any of the Pavillion(s) buy using this link below: http://www.riverplacelimiteddistrict.org/parks-and-trails.html
The Panther Holllow Trailhead (lower section) in front of the fountain is a picturesque place to hang out on adirondack chairs on boardwalk beneath a pergola which could be the beginning or ending of a hike through breathtaking Canyon, Fern or Little Elm trails. Have you seen the swans and turtles or caught any bass, bluegill or catfish? Did you know the completed trail has been open since 2014?
Enjoy the privacy of your own private sanctuary climbing 2,736 challenging built-in steps about 6 miles out and back with natural scenery. The property has been more recently in high demand as it was mentioned in several “trail” sites and is leashed dog friendly. Thanks to Boy and Girl Scouts and River Place Members the trail has been updated (per Art Jistel). We are all truly thankful for routine evidence of tree trimming and trail clearing performed to keep the trail safe and clear.
Whether you are up high or down low you can appreciate River Place. This is BIG VIEW (Dr.) downhill scenery as you approach the pond below. The slope can be challenging but is well handled with the right shoes, and I see many hikers with walking sticks (smart gear).
